Tommaso Girotto is a young Australian guitarist who has dedicated himself to his passion for music since the age of 10, and continues to share this passion through performance and teaching. 

He has studied with renowned guitarists around the world, including with Giuseppe Zangari in Australia (2008-2015), Allan Neave and Ian Watt at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (2017-2021), and Goran Krivokapić at Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln (2022-2024). 

Outside of tertiary education, Tommaso has taken part in a number of short courses and masterclasses. In 2021, Tommaso was accepted into the Accademia Chigiana Summer Academy where he studied with the late renowned guitarist, Oscar Ghiglia. He then studied under the tuition of Lukasz Kuropaczewski at his International Guitar Workshops in Poland in 2022 and 2023. Tommaso has also performed in masterclasses by and studied with some of the leading musicians of this generation, including; Paolo Pegoraro, Lorenzo Micheli, Neal Peres Da Costa, Timothy Kain and Madeleine Easton. 

Tommaso has received prizes in various competitions within Australia, including third place in the Adelaide International Guitar Festival 2023, and first prize in the Sydney Eisteddfod in both the ‘under 18s’ and ‘any age’ categories. He has competed in the finals of international guitar competitions, such as the Istanbul Classical Guitar Competition and the Adelaide International Classical Guitar Competition. Additionally, Tommaso has performed as a soloist in the Sydney Opera House and various award ceremonies, including the AMEB’s Diploma Presentation Ceremony as one of four soloists. 

Tommaso has undertaken a number of collaborations with other musicians, including a tour in New South Wales, Australia, in 2021 with a small ensemble of flute, cello and guitar, and duo work with other guitarists, most recently collaborating with Émilie Fend and performing J. Rodrigo’s ‘Concierto Madrigal’ in Italy and Germany in 2023.
